Realize LIVE Americas 2025 - Recap Day 1

2025년 6월 2일
Detroit, Michigan, USA

Siemens Digital Industries Software has opened Realize LIVE Americas 2025 bringing together our users, partners and expert community to share collective knowledge, best practice and insight

Siemens Digital Industries Software has opened Realize LIVE Americas 2025, our flagship event that brings together over 2,500 attendees from our user, partners and expert community to share collective knowledge, best practice and insight. Realize LIVE also provides a platform for Siemens to share our vision in a rapidly evolving and changing world, discuss the directives and driving forces for the future and celebrate the incredible results our customers achieve with the world’s most comprehensive digital twin technology, the Siemens Xcelerator portfolio of industry software and true innovative spirit.

President and CEO of Siemens Digital Industries Software, Tony Hemmelgarn opened the event with a quote from ancient Greek philosopher Heraclitus - "No man ever steps in the same river twice, for it's not the same river, and he's not the same man" - and used this to lead onto how change is an essential part of what Siemens’ customers do on a daily basis.

“Manufacturing and engineering processes evolve, with engineers using different tools and new processes that fundamentally change the nature of their work. While complexity might seem challenging, we believe our customers can turn complexity into a competitive advantage. The products, services and technologies our customers develop are constantly changing. New complex features, regulatory requirements, sustainability challenges and global supply chain concerns are reshaping industries. We're introducing new tools like data and AI that are revolutionizing how we work.”

Tony Hemmelgarn, President and CEO, Siemens Digital Industries Software, opens Realize LIVE Americas 2025 and delivers a keynote that brings together how embracing complexity and change, combined with the power of industrial AI, can deliver competitive advantage to Siemens’ customers

AI in an industrial context is the key

Hemmelgarn positioned AI as a transformative force for Siemens, focusing on turning technological complexity into strategic advantage for both Siemens and the customers that adopt our technologies. By embedding intelligent AI based capabilities across the Siemens Xcelerator portfolio, Siemens is using AI to revolutionize data management, engineering simulation and manufacturing processes with an approach that goes beyond simple automation - instead creating systems that can identify problems, suggest optimizations and streamline complex workflows.

Specifically, Siemens is applying AI in Teamcenter to automate problem detection, in its Simcenter portfolio to reduce engineering calculation times, and in its manufacturing technologies to synchronize factory assets and manage configuration challenges. Hemmelgarn views AI not as a sudden breakthrough, but as a long-term investment that transforms how businesses operate, ultimately helping customers gain competitive advantage by making complex processes more intelligent and efficient.

Altair acquisition brings greater capabilities and expands technology reach

Siemens' acquisition of Altair represents a strategic move to enhance our digital twin and simulation capabilities by integrating advanced non-linear computing technologies and extensive data and AI capabilities.

By integrating Altair's capabilities into our ecosystem, Siemens can now offer more comprehensive high-performance computing solutions that balance workloads between GPU and CPU, both on-premise and in the cloud. The acquisition specifically strengthens Siemens' ability to handle complex engineering challenges, particularly in areas like structural analysis, simulation and data analytics. Altair's technologies enable more sophisticated modeling and predictive capabilities, allowing engineers to perform advanced computational tasks more efficiently and gain deeper understanding of their products and data.

Hemmelgarn concluded his opening keynote by reinforcing how Siemens’ digital twin technology is the result of investment over a long period of time and how Siemens’ focus has always been, and continues to be, on building technologies that are robust and clean. As he closed his keynote, “Our AI investments aren't new—we've been laying the groundwork for years and these technologies are now accelerating rapidly. Our goal is to ensure our customers aren't left behind and are using Siemens Xcelerator to help create competitive advantage.”

Innovation in the zero emissions EV industry with Workhorse

Hemmelgarn was followed by Jeff Mowry, Chief Information Officer at Workhorse, a US-based zero-emission vehicle manufacturer that has adopted the Siemens Xcelerator portfolio to digitally transform its business processes, from design and production to service. Workhorse has developed a compelling lineup of electric trucks, with their flagship Class 5 vehicle representing cutting-edge engineering.

As Jeff Mowry summarized the benefits of their Teamcenter X implementation, "We were a small company without an infrastructure team, and Siemens helped us set up everything quickly. We achieved significant cost savings, enhanced our cybersecurity, and gained the scalability we needed to grow our product line."

Jeff Mowry, Chief Information Officer at electric vehicle manufacturer, Workhorse, is driving digital transformation and accelerating how it delivers its products to market faster than ever.

This approach enabled Workhorse to rapidly develop its next generation electric vehicle from design to production in just 22 months. By leveraging Siemens Xcelerator, including NX from the Designcenter portfolio and Siemens’ Teamcenter X PLM software, Workhorse continues to push the boundaries of electric vehicle design and manufacturing, with ongoing plans to explore advanced digital capabilities.

Celebrating leaders and community pioneers
